Analisis Kesalahan Siswa Dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Matematika Berdasarkan Kesalahan Kastolan Pada Materi SPLDV Kelas VIII Ditinjau Dari Gender

Abstract

Liniear equation of two variables system was one of lesson that will be studied by students. However, there are still many students who make mistakes in solving liniear equation of two variables system. One of the factor caused of liniear equation of two variables system errors is gender. This study aims to find out what mistakes students made in solving liniear equation of two variables system questions according to Kastolan stages in terms of gender. The research method used is qualitative research with a descriptive research design. Data coleection techinques used were tests and interview. Data collection procedures were used by tests, interviews and documentation. The test was given to all 26 students in grade VIII.6 of JHS Number 7 Lubuklinggau, then 6 of the 26 students were selected as research subjects consisting of 3 boys and 3 girls. Data were analyzed by datas collection, datas reduction datas presentation and conclusion. Based on the result of data analysis and study, the results obtained were conceptual errors 0%, male procedural errors and female procedural errors are 50% and 46,15%. Some factors causing procedural errors in this study are students did not understand the steps to solving the question so they could not complete the question to the end, students did not understand the next step to solve the question so they could not continue finish the previous problem and male technical errors and female technical errors were 9,6% and 5,76%. Factor causing technical errors in this study were students were not careful in the calculation process and students did not understand the calculation steps
